Tribes Call for Removal of Dams That Block Journey of Salmon
Indian tribes along the Klamath River rallied in Portland on Wednesday for the removal of four hydroelectric dams that block salmon from spawning in their historic habitat upriver, and they said they intended to pressure the governors of Oregon and California to help push for removing the dams.

The mountain whitefish, known to anyone that has wet a line on the Yellowstone, is consistently and heinously abused by anglers in Montana. While many claim that throwing a whitefish on the bank, spearing it, or squeezing it to death competently removes competition for trout, whitefish are a native species that may in fact contribute to a trout’s healthy habitat. Abusive anglers perhaps only harm their beloved trout while blatantly disrespecting the river’s ecosystem.
